Landscape Industry Comes Together to Grow Industry

The National Association of Landscape Professionals is committed to growing the industry and its workforce though the Industry Growth Initiative.  At recent meetings during Legislative Days in Washington D.C., NALP’s leadership celebrated positive steps forward toward the work that is being done to  showcase that life – and life’s work – are best enjoyed outside.

Here’s what the Industry Growth Initiative has been up to lately…

SHOWCASING THE EXPERTISE AND VALUE OF PROFESSIONALS –  The champaign placed 152% more articles about the industry in news outlets across the country than last year. With more than 1,400 total placements in outlets from to USA Today to to Cleaning and Maintenance Management, NALP is speaking to home and business owners with messages about the importance of managed landscapes.

DRIVING BUSINESS – Through a new advertising campaign, NALP is encouraging homeowners to hire professionals for their lawn and landscape needs. In just two weeks since the campaign launched, 9,700 people have visited our Find-a-Pro feature on! The site connects them with NALP members in their area.

ATTRACTING EMPLOYEES –With more than 900 postings on our job board, it’s obvious landscape professionals need help and need it now. In response, NALP has launched a variety of ad campaigns to help employers fill their vacant positions.  Additionally, we are also running ads to encourage students to consider industry careers.  With ads appearing on high profile sites, we are earning awareness about the industry.

Over the next five years the NALP Foundation will raise $10 million from landscape contractors, suppliers and grants to continue and build upon these efforts. If you would like to learn more about the work that will be done through media relations, partnerships with commercial publications, research, HGTV, etc. please contact Missy Henriksen.  We need your help to grow the industry and its workforce!
