Giving Back to the Community

Our company volunteers for Project Evergreen’s GreenCare for Troops program each year (providing maintenance to military families while loved ones are overseas). Starting a couple of years ago we decided to donate a landscape make over to one of the military families whom we are given from Project Evergreen each year. Last year we incorporated PLANET’s Day of Service with our military make over. Our company manages the maintenance for military housing at Air Force and Army bases in Oklahoma and Texas and we donate our time and money to support our military men, women, and families while loved ones are away. We teach and advise military families who live on each base on how to best maintain their environment at home. Many of these families are from other regions of the country and have not experienced our environment and don’t know how to care for our native plants. With last year’s Day of Service, we received lots of press coverage – all of the major channels and a great write up in major newspapers. We received calls from Colonels, Generals, and service men and women from all over the state.  We also received a call from an employee at our local VA Hospital with a thank you.  It has built a stronger relationship with our existing customers and helped to get other companies wanting to help. This year we plan on doing another military makeover by assisting a family whose loved one is  serving our country oversees. We will be doing tree planting, landscaping, design/build with native plants, tree trimming, irrigation check and repair,  and full service maintenance while he is gone.We are looking forward to this years PLANET Day of Service.
