Individuals who complete Contract Law & Risk Management Essentials, Human Resource Management and Management, Leadership & Corporate Culture courses will receive the Human Resources Professional Certificate.
The Operations Professional Certificate is awarded to those who complete Contract Law & Risk Management Essentials, Exterior Production & Operations and Leveraging Technology courses.
These courses are designed to prepare employees for advanced roles in the landscape industry. They will allow participants to develop critical skills in areas such as financial management, human resources, risk management, and operational efficiency through technology, leadership, and strategic planning. The program aims to prepare professionals to manage and grow landscape businesses.
“Management skills not only are skills that set the business up for long-term success, but they also are key to establishing a culture of continuous learning and improvement,” says Margo Rash, director of programs for NALP. “A strong culture does more than boost performance; it attracts and retains top talent, it enhances employee engagement, and it drives innovation. When people are happy and feel supported, they do their best work!”
How Does It Work?
The courses are self-paced, featuring interactive coursework and practical exercises that enable participants to apply business theories to real-world business scenarios. They can be accessed online via the NALP Learning Hub.
Participants are encouraged to download available resources and take notes as they progress through each course. Treat these courses like academic classes, with preparation and active engagement being key to success.
There are knowledge tests within each module to assess the learner’s understanding of the material. They are designed to reinforce key concepts and ensure practical comprehension.
Companion publications for each topic are also available. These are sold separately and in sets, and expand upon the information that is included in the online courses.
Each module takes, on average, two to three hours to complete, but it may take longer for some individuals. To complete all eight courses, the duration ranges between 16 to 24 hours, depending on the learner’s pace.
Participants have up to 12 months to complete courses once enrolled. Individuals can register for the courses through the NALP Learning Hub. Once registered, participants gain immediate access to the course materials.
