WILN Takeover – Mentorships!: Season 3: Episode 10 of Growing in the Green Industry Podcast

In season 3, episode 10 of the Growing in the Green Industry Podcast, members of the NALP Women in Landscape Network (WILN) took over the podcast. Jenny Girard with RM Landscape and Stephanie Leveling with the Integra Group hosted this week’s podcast.

Girard earned her associate degree in science and mathematics before moving on to SUNY Cobleskill, where her love of science and botany could become one. After graduation, she interned as a production grower for Longwood Gardens. After her internship with Longwood Gardens, she worked at Busch Gardens for five years. Next, she moved back home to Buffalo and joined R.M. Landscape as an area manager, where she manages crews, clients, and projects, while also creating designs for customers.

A graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness/horticulture, Leveling started her career in the green industry as an intern with Heimos Greenhouses in Millstadt, Illinois, and worked there after graduation. She moved on to Munie Greencare Professionals and then Ideal Landscape Group. She is now part of the client success and elevation team at the Integra Group.

In this podcast, Girard and Leveling talk about their experiences as a mentor and mentee as well as why to be a mentor, where to look to find the right mentors and choosing the right mentor for you. They talk about the importance of finding the right person and building that trust and relationship. They also touch on asking for help, a tough thing to do for so many.
