NALP is aggressively pursuing legislative fixes for our key advocacy issues; H-2B permanent cap relief and Pesticide Regulatory reform.
But we need your help NOW, before a looming September 30 deadline. September 30, marks the end of the fiscal year for the government and Congress is required to pass 12 appropriations bills to keep the federal government funded and running.
In addition to keeping the federal government open, this year also marks a September 30 expiration date for the 2014 Farm Bill. The Farm Bill is a massive spending authorization bill that funds agriculture programs ranging from crop commodity insurance, conservation programs and even food stamps.
Both the annual appropriations and the expiration of the 2014 Farm Bill have provided NALP an opportunity to pursue legislative fixes for our two biggest advocacy issues: Permanent H-2B Cap Relief and Pesticide Regulatory Reform in the 2018 Farm Bill.
This is a critical time to be contacting your legislators in D.C. and back home in your communities while the House is in August recess.
Use NALP’s Action Center – It Makes it Easy to Contact Legislators
Visit the Action Center to see customized messaging and contact information for each of the two issues, please participate in one or both as you see fit. The more engagement, the bigger the impact, the better chance we have to enact comprehensive wins for the landscape industry!
