For the last 18 months, Jessica and Andrew have been running small operations for the business, with Andrew serving as the technical manager. Before moving to Texas, Jessica worked as a CPA in a small CPA firm, and Andrew worked in operations at a small logistics company, both located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Jessica loves the opportunity for growth that comes with working in lawn care. She has been around Weed Man Lawn Care for most of her life as her parents and grandparents also owned their own franchises; they are now on the corporate side of the business. Andrew was drawn to lawn care by the opportunity to work year-round in an essential industry that will always be around. As young entrepreneurs, they knew stepping into this business was the best fit for them.
In this podcast, Jessica and Andrew dive into their career paths, and how backgrounds in accounting and logistics and years of playing and coaching sports helped prepare them for the jump to lawn care. The group also talks about working with your spouse, having tough conversations at home and at the office, and how they are planning now for future growth.
