Lather has worked in the landscape construction world since he was eligible for a work permit at the age of 15. In 2007, he worked as a top account manager for a national re-wholesale nursery, and then as a senior estimator for a L&L Top 100 Landscape construction & maintenance firm. During his role as a senior estimator, the seed for Takeoff Monkey was planted. After years of living the chaotic & stressful pre-construction life ā€“ he knew there was a faster, easier way. Fast-forward to 2019, Takeoff Monkey was founded.

In this podcast, Lather talks about the process of estimating ā€“ the importance of documenting and having a process and who is the right person to do the estimating. He also talks about best practices, efficiencies, how to manage with the client and what is the draw to having someone who just focuses on estimating.Ā
