NALP Member Sperber Landscape Cos. Enters Florida Market With Top Cut Partnership

Sperber Landscape Cos. enters the Florida marketplace with its partnership with Top Cut Lawn Services, headquartered in Palm Beach County, Florida. The Top Cut addition is the third partnership for the newly launched SLC brand and comes following news of partnerships with Kujawa Enterprises (KEI) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Conserve LandCare in the Coachella Valley of California.

NALP Supplier Member STIHL Hosts U.S. Secretary of Labor to Discuss Workforce Development Issues

U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia takes a tour of a STIHL manufacturing facility.

Earlier this week, STIHL Inc. hosted the U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia, along with other local business leaders, for a roundtable discussion highlighting workforce development and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

During the visit, Secretary Scalia toured the STIHL manufacturing facility to see modern manufacturing in action and learn about workforce development initiatives. In response to the growing skills gap, STIHL is involved in several different workforce development initiatives. These include an apprentice program, dual-enrollment program, STEM sponsorships and an annual manufacturing technology summer camp for high school students.

NALP Member Landscape Workshop Aquires EcoLandcare

Landscape Workshop recently completed the acquisition of the landscape maintenance, enhancement and snow operations of EcoLandcare, Lexington, Kentucky.

With this expansion in the Lexington area, Landscape Workshop now has nine branch locations throughout the Southeast.

EcoLandcare was originally founded by John Thomson in 2010. John Thomson will continue to operate Thomson Lawn Care as a key turf chemicals subcontractor to Landscape Workshop. He will also serve as senior advisor to Landscape Workshop throughout the transition.

Project EverGreen Seeks Volunteers

Project EverGreen is seeking volunteers for its GreenCare for Troops and SnowCare for Troops programs.

These nationwide programs match green and snow industry volunteers with men and women serving the U.S. in the Armed Forces. Companies provide basic lawn care, landscape and snow removal services to families with someone serving away from home.
