SavATree Merges with Barrett’s Tree Service

SavATree has merged with Barrett’s Tree Service, based in South Burlington, Vermont. This marks SavATree’s first office in the state and their 7th branch nationwide.

Barrett’s Tree Service is a third-generation family-owned and operated company. They specialize in all aspects of tree care and preservation, as well as plant health care services to residential and commercial clients. Owners Of Barrett’s Tree Service, Brett “BJ” Barrett, Todd Barrett and Joe LaRock along with their dedicated team, will remain on board with SavATree as part of their ongoing commitment to maintaining local service excellence.

Ruppert Landscape Names Charlotte Branch Manager

Rachael Kelly has been named the new branch manager for Ruppert Landscape’s Charlotte, North Carolina location.

Kelly has over 25 years of experience in the landscape industry. She has been with Ruppert for over three years as the director of quality and efficiency in the landscape management division’s southern region. She helped guide training content and courses, in the classroom and in the field, with a special focus on job scripting and labor hour management.

“Rachel is very passionate about the industry and has extensive experience leading teams with an emphasis on process improvement,” says Sam Wells, region manager in the company’s landscape management division. “She has been working closely with the Charlotte team over the past nine months, getting to know the team as well as the local market, and we are excited to see her step into this role and help them grow.”  

As branch manager, she will be responsible for the overall welfare of the branch including the safety and development of her team, strategic planning and budgeting, training, customer service, and day-to-day operations.

Kelly is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. She has served on the NALP board of directors and has been involved in several NALP committees.

WorkWave Launches ServiceBot

Davey Tree Appoints Three New Corporate Officers

The Davey Tree Expert Company’s board of directors appointed three new corporate officers within the company: Jed Day, Larry Evans and Jim Houston.

Day, executive vice president and general manager of U.S. Residential Operations, joined Davey in 1982 as a supervisor trainee. Day held various positions on the utility service line before transitioning to the residential line in 1990 as a sales trainee.

Evans, executive vice president and general manager of the Davey Tree Surgery Company, joined Davey in 1980 as a groundsperson. Evans has held positions including climber, crew leader, district crew leader and area supervisor.

Houston, vice president and general manager, Eastern Operations, U.S. Residential/Commercial (R/C) Services and Commercial Landscape Services, joined Davey in 1992 as a trimmer. He has worked as a plant health care technician, sales arborist, district manager, and operations manager.

“Each of these new officers brings a wealth of experience, proven results and a passion for our company that we can all appreciate and admire,” says Pat Covey, chairman, president, and CEO at Davey Tree. “These three new officers will support our company’s continued growth and succession planning, and are a testament to the talents, efforts and dedication within Davey.”
