Ruppert Landscape Partners with Associated Builders & Contractors for Networking Event

Ruppert Landscape partnered with Associated Builder and Contractors of Metro Washington to host their annual summer networking event on July 19. ABC Metro has been holding this event at Ruppert’s headquarters for over 25 years, with more than 500 attendees this year.

The event allows members and prospective members to interact. ABC members are builders of schools, hospitals, government buildings, recreational facilities, houses of worship, commercial centers, industrial plants, bridges, roads, museums, and much more.

“We take great pride in our association with an organization that excels in its efforts to support our industry and remains committed to keeping us well-informed about local, state, and national issues affecting the building and construction industries,” says Bob Jones, president of Ruppert’s landscape construction division. “Our involvement with ABC, and events such as this, afford us the opportunity to interact and build stronger relationships with customers and other contractors.”

Hoffman Landscapes Hires Landscape Architect and Five Other Employees

Hoffman Landscapes has recently added Marissa Angell to the landscape and pool construction department as a landscape architect.

She has over 10 years of experience in landscape architecture and design with a focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. She has a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, a Bachelor’s of Agricultural Science from Cornell University and majored in journalism and advertising at Syracuse University.

In her role, she will be responsible for designing and managing a variety of landscape projects from concept to completion.

“We are thrilled to have Marissa join our team,” says Michael Hoffman, president of Hoffman Landscapes. “Her expertise and unique perspective will add tremendous value for our clients and their properties. We look forward to seeing her creativity and passion for sustainable design come to life in our projects.”

Hoffman Landscapes has also added other associates to their roster including Joseph Napoli as logistics manager, Casey Thomson-Comstock as irrigation manager, and Joe Sopczneski as construction manager. Additionally, Wesley Fagan and Michael Pacelli have been appointed as property care managers.

BOSS Software Hires Jonathan Schlemmer

Jonathan Schlemmer has joined BOSS Software as vice president of the field services business unit.

He previously worked for Home Depot as the technology leader for the rental and services division. In that role, he led the company’s product and engineering team in North America deploying new point of sale solutions. He has also worked as the head of technology for Compact Power. There he rolled out an automated scheduling solution that reduced drive time for technicians.

“Jonathan brings a tremendous amount of technical and business leadership experience to our team,” says Mike Cossins, CEO and founder of The Integra Group, developers of BOSS Software. “We look forward to having him work with both our internal teams as well as our BOSS customers to achieve even greater results for their businesses.”

Landscape Workshop Acquires Louisiana Landscape Specialty, Inc.

Landscape Workshop acquired Louisiana Landscape Specialty, Inc., which has three locations in Southeast Louisiana.

The company started in 1983 and has grown from a small landscape installation and maintenance operation to one of the largest landscape contracting companies in the Gulf, employing over 100 landscape professionals.

STIHL Announces Executive Transition

STIHL’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, Chris Keffer, has been promoted to president and CEO. He will assume this position on Aug. 4 as he succeeds Terry Horan, who has been appointed to STIHL’s board of directors.

These appointments will provide stability and continuity to STIHL’s U.S. market. Horan has established himself as an innovator and a leader.
