Davey Tree Promotes Archuleta to Operations Manager

Andre Archuleta

Andre Archuleta has been promoted to operations manager, west coast, commercial landscape services (CLS).

Archuleta joined Davey Tree in 2010 at the Colorado Springs branch as a landscaper. In 2011, he was promoted to supervisor for the Fort Collins, Colorado, operations and in 2013 he became a production manager. In 2014, he became project manager for the Fort Collins operations. In 2016, he relocated and became project manager for the Military Family Housing Air Force Base account in Spokane, Washington.

ā€œAndreā€™s ability to perform quality work and his eye for detail quickly set him apart from others,ā€ says Blane Pshigoda, vice president of operations, CLS. ā€œHis strong leadership and organizational skills will be a great addition to the leadership team on the west coast, and I look forward to seeing the positive impacts Andre creates for the company and his clients.ā€

Davey Resource Group Names Regional Vice President

Steven Johnston

The Davey Resource Group (DRG), a subsidiary of The Davey Tree Expert Company, has promoted Steven Johnston to regional vice president, utility asset management.

Johnston will continue to oversee field operations for Asset Management Services. His responsibilities for Daveyā€™s Fiber Construction teams have expanded as well. He joined DRG in 2006 through the acquisition of Southeastern Reprographics, Inc. (SRI). Through a series of promotions, he had developed industry-focused services that meet the challenges DRGā€™s clients face.

ā€œStevenā€™s substantial industry knowledge, willingness to solve client challenges and focus on safety has been instrumental in cementing Daveyā€™s leadership position in the industry,ā€ says Scott Carlin, DRGā€™s vice president and general manager of asset management services. ā€œI look forward to watching the growth and development of our teams under Johnstonā€™s leadership.ā€

Davey Tree Appoints Technical Advisor for Davey Institute

Thomas Whitney

Thomas Whitney, Ph.D., has been appointed to technical advisor within the Davey Institute. In this role, Whitney will work with Daveyā€™s offices in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. His work will not only focus on residential and commercial offices but will address the needs of other service lines.

Whitney has a bachelorā€™s degree in biology from Gonzaga University, a masterā€™s degree in entomology from the University of Kentucky and a Ph.D. in forestry and natural resources from the University of Georgia.

ā€œThomas has a great deal of knowledge in the green industry and will be more than able to provide science-based solutions for Davey clients and shareholders,ā€ said A.D. Ali, manager of technical services, Davey Institute. ā€œI look forward to seeing the value he creates for our service lines.ā€

Ground Works Land Design Hires Marketing Director and Director of Technology

Ground Works Land Design, based in Cleveland, Ohio, has recently hired Joseph Stark as marketing director and Adam Swank as director of technology.

Both new hires come from outside the industry and were brought on to support the companyā€™s aggressive expansion plans.

ā€œIn the landscape industry the saying goes, ā€˜always be hiring,ā€™ but that typically pertains to seasonal crew members,ā€ says Tony Nasrallah, president and founder of Ground Works. ā€œInvesting in our leadership team and placing an emphasis on technology will ultimately allow us to offer more to our clients, setting us apart from other businesses in our vertical.ā€

Adam Swank

Stark has over 10 years of experience in marketing, sales, PR and communication, having worked in the media industry prior. He graduated from Ohio Universityā€™s Script College of Communication. He will be responsible for increasing Ground Worksā€™ digital footprint and establishing better outbound communication practices.

Swank is a 10-year technology veteran and Certified Scrum Master. He has expertise in digital transformation and change management. Swank is responsible for designing the Ground Works Technology Roadmap. He will also lead project teams and implementations and will work closely with customers and partners to provide better service through enhanced technology.
