Among the sea of blue jackets at this year’s 94th National FFA Convention and Expo, an oasis of green could be found. From Oct. 27 – 29, sponsors and volunteers from the professional landscape and lawn care industry worked together to again create a booth showcasing the full scope of the industry, and the many career opportunities available.
The booth included interactive displays and conversations with representatives from NALP, The Davey Tree Expert Co., LandCare, STIHL, the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute, and The Engledow Group, and helped students learn more about the myriad of career opportunities in the industry.
“NALP continues to lead the charge on developing and executing a booth experience that showcases the breadth of our industry” says Jenn Myers, executive director, NALP Foundation & senior director, workforce development for NALP. “By bringing together progressive stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers and trade associations, we displayed variety but also a strong comradery, which resonates with young people,”
“Beautiful plant material for the NALP booth was again provided by Indianapolis-based NALP member The Engledow Group. “The live plant material really brought the booth to life,” Myers stated.
