In the 14th episode of the Growing in the Green Industry Podcast, hosts Miles Kuperus III, system architect at Include Software, Neal Glatt, managing partner of GrowTheBench, Brett Lemcke, VP of R.M. Landscape, and Luke Melograno, production coordinator at Mariani Landscape talked to Chris Joyce, president of the Joyce Companies.

The Joyce Companies consist of the following green industry companies: Joyce Landscaping, Inc., Always Green of Cape Cod, and Grass Roots Irrigation.

Joyce earned an associate degree in landscape contracting from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture and a bachelorā€™s degree in urban forestry from the University of Massachusetts. He is a member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals Foundation Board.

In this podcast, Joyce shares how he ended up owning three separate companies, how he grew his business to 185 employees and the many lessons heā€™s learned over the years while running his companies. He says one of the biggest game-changers for him was when he joined ALCA (a legacy organization of NALP). Joyce says hiring a CFO allowed them to streamline their business and improve greatly on the backend.
