Tired of chasing transactions? Learn from Timberline Landscaping on how they maintain and build lifelong partnerships in the community during NALP’s Field Trip, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on June 17-18, 2026.
Timberline Landscaping was established in 1982 and serves both residential and commercial clients. Their offerings include residential design-build, commercial landscape construction & irrigation, maintenance, irrigation maintenance and repair, lawn care, arborist services, snow removal, landscape lighting, and Christmas decor.

The company is one of four businesses operating under the parent company, Timberline One. The sister companies, Timberline Trailcraft, Timberline Rock N’ Roll and Timberline Building Systems, specialize in trail building, providing aggregate materials and offering building solutions, respectively.
Across these four operations, Timberline One generates more than $45 million in annual revenue and employs more than 320 team members.
“We are proud of the growth and grit of our team,” the Timberline team says. “We have learned a lot from attending NALP Field Trips and are happy to return the favor. We are looking forward to networking and giving back to our industry.”
This year’s Field Trip is held in partnership with the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado.
During Field Trip, attendees will receive a behind-the-scenes look at Timberline’s diversification strategy, their C-suite and leadership structure, and how the company approaches workforce development, safety and consistency at scale.
“Our aim is to support others in learning to delegate responsibilities and empower trusted team members to develop leadership within units and companies,” the Timberline team says. “We hope that people leave encouraged to embrace continuous change, demonstrate adaptability, and pursue diversification of services and business lines to expand revenue streams.”
The event will also feature a tour of their shop facilities, yard operations, Timberline U training facilities and Timberline Rock N’ Roll’s composting operation.

Timberline attributes their success to their willingness to embrace uncertainty and take calculated risks.
“We foster growth among team members and actively encourage employee participation in shaping our culture and strategic direction,” the Timberline team says. “Ongoing diversification through new business ventures and acquisitions has strengthened our organization. By allocating adequate capital for expansion and management and establishing both a parent company and an executive leadership team, we have significantly accelerated our growth trajectory.”
The company has often taken on unique and challenging projects, such as the renovation of Panorama Park, which included an array of new features including a mix of concrete, aggregate, and natural soil trails, boulder terraces with steps, a playground that is universally accessible, a shaded event lawn, a bike park, a youth area with skate features, a climbing boulder, a multi-use artificial turf sports field, fitness stations, and a splash pad.
This project called for the skills of all four of the companies under Timberline One, and the crews had to navigate establishing complex grades and managing storm water and sediment control throughout the job.

Another example of a high-risk, high-reward project was when they renovated the Manitou Incline, also known as America’s Toughest Trail, with a 41% average grade and the steepest grade at 68%. This popular trail was facing major erosion issues, and the team worked to restore the trail, add erosion control measures, while preserving historical aspects of the site.
“For this project, our team hiked the Incline daily, a feat on its own, to perform the work,” the Timberline team says. “Supplies were brought in and dropped via helicopter, an exciting challenge, and one we have used on other remote trails since.”
These projects provide opportunities for team members to enhance and broaden their skillsets.
“Each project contributed to an improved brand reputation among prominent local clients from various industries and fostered lasting professional relationships,” the Timberline team says.

By earning clients’ trust and looking out for their best interests, they are able to close more sales. The company’s biggest source of customers is through word of mouth and referrals.
“We ensure that we are communicating regularly throughout the lifespan of that customer,” the Timberline team says. “We never want to think of a customer as a one-time sale, but as a long-term partner. Our customers know they can count on us and that we will perform at the highest level for them.”
Clients also choose Timberline thanks to their scope of services and expertise. Their ideal customers are those who can be serviced by their multiple businesses.
