Cody Jones recently completed the Job Corps program, earned his certification, and is now working for DeSantis Landscapes, Inc., Salem, Oregon – a member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
Cody has been a quiet but solid leader who has really come into his own during his Job Corps training. He acquired his Landscape Industry Certified Technician designation in Turf Maintenance from the Oregon Landscape Contractors Association. OLCA is one of several state and provincial associations that offer the national Technician-Exterior written and hands-on certification program in Oregon in partnership with NALP.
Cody’s story is also one of determination to quit being a couch potato, get himself fit and shed some seriously unwanted pounds while he was in the landscape program at Tongue Point, Astoria, Oregon. Starting at over 300 pounds, he made the commitment to himself to lose 100 pounds before he completed the program. He met his goal and inspired others along the way to his now very trim 185 pounds. A truly amazing transformation!
