U.S. House of Representatives Adjourns for August Recess; Meet with your legislators in your district!

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives adjourned for their annual August recess.  The August recess is a critical in-district work period, especially in an election year.  The Senate will have an abbreviated August recess, currently scheduled for the first full week of August before returning to D.C. to handle confirmation hearings.  This is an opportune time for NALP members to continue to engage your legislators when they are back in your district.

Both of NALP’s priority federal legislative issues (H-2B cap relief, and pesticide preemption in the Farm Bill) have looming September 30th deadlines, where some action must be taken by Congress.  NALP will be working with you to assist in scheduling in-district visits throughout the month of August while we continue to work on your behalf with staffers on Capitol Hill.
