One student's path to a lawn care career started with certification

We were very happy recently to receive a letter of appreciation from the Federal Jobs Corp program expressing their thanks for our help in aligningĀ its landscape training programs to industry standards.

The Tongue Point Jobs Corp Center, Astoria, Oregon, shared a success story from one of its graduates who is now working in the industry.

Jeffrey BeardĀ is a 2013 graduate of the Landscaping Program at Tongue Point, Ā and the staff reports that he was an exceptional worker and truly inspired others with his determination in the classroom environment, eventually achieving his commercial pesticide applicator license and Landscape Industry Certified Horticultural Technician certification through the National Association of Landscape Professionals.

Jeffā€™s success story is one of pushing through personal barriers, as well as understanding and making use of his strengths.Ā  Jeff uses his excellent customer service and technical skills in his current position as an area service representative for ProGrass in Eugene, Oregon.

Jeff is proof that if nice guys work hard, they won’t finishĀ last.
