On my way to the Green Industry Conference

The first time that I heard about GIC was in my careers class at BYU, Provo with Dr. Phil Allen (CLP and Planet Board Member). A group of students that just got back from the 2008 GIC, along with an ambassador, spoke about the great experiences they had at the conference. I quickly joined PLANET and participated in the 2009 Student Career Days at Cal Poly, Pamona, which was one of the best experiences of my college career. I quickly learned that PLANET is the organization propelling the Green Industry in the right direction and one that I want to be a part of throughout my career. When I heard that I could apply to be an ambassador for the 2009 GIC, I jumped on the opportunity. I knew that it would be the best way to market myself and serve in PLANET. The week or two that we had to wait to see if we were accepted felt like months. I checked my e-mail every 5 minutes to see if I had received a response. The afternoon it came, I dropped everything and ran straight to my wifeā€™s work to tell her the good news. Ever since I have been highly anticipating GIC because I believe it will be the highlight of my senior year. Iā€™m excited to attend classes, meet the people who are in charge of PLANET, talk to employers, and become a bigger part of PLANET myself.
