EPA Releases Pesticide Assessments

The EPA released preliminary ecological and human health risk assessments for a number of pesticides including clothianidin, thiamethoxam and dinotefuran insecticides.  The agency also released a preliminary ecological risk assessment for imidacloprid.  Previously, pollinator-only risk assessments were released for these pesticides earlier this year and  in 2016.

EPA also released draft human health and ecological risk assessments for the registration review of abamectin, bifenthrin, PBO (piperonyl buotoxide), and pyriproxyfen as well as the availability of EPA’s draft human health risk assessments for the registration review of bifenthrin, and cyfluthrins. NALP is reviewing the assessments and will submit comments to the docket as necessary. The preliminary risk assessments can be accessed via the registration review docket links below.
